Bring back old formula!

I am distraught I have used this product for years. This past month I purchased and it seems like a completely different formula that doesn’t cover my gray at ALL. I tried 3 different bottles to see if it was a fluke or not. Please bring back the old version with better coverage this is awful and so sticky too!

I've used root touch up for years, however, most recently, it's terrible. Dries out my hair, makes it feel sticky, comes off all over clothing, pillows, etc…you can NOT touch your hair even hours or days after spraying it because it will be all over your hands. It feels sticky and cake-like on your hair. Absolutely disappointing root product on the market and the cost has gone up exponentially.

All of a sudden, it's Junk!

I've used this product for years but for some reason the last few cans have leaked ALL OVER the place, causing a mess in my daughter's bathroom, in my bathroom, all over my clothes and hands. You go to use it like normal and you get a big messy surprise. My bathroom counter is STAINED!!!!
And, it's stupid expensive to boot!

Ineffective false claims for no smudging

This item claims that once dry it doesn't smudge or get on anything which is false even one to two days after I've sprayed it on my hair if I touch my hair or something touches my hair it gets on everything horrible product

Worst L’Oréal product I have ever used. The blonde color was bright yellow. It gives a very chalky unnatural look and feel to the hair. Very difficult to wash out.

Great product with horrible nozzle design

I have used this product for years and hate the new spray nozzle! It splatters everywhere and leaves product dots on my face, countertop, clothing. It’s horrible! Please go back to the original spray nozzle that does not have the quarter inch spout!

I usually have my hair colored once a month. I did not color my hair in December and my next appointment is not until January 10, 2026. I have been using L'Oreal Paris Magic Root Cover Up for a few years and really like it. The gray on the crown of my head was so much but j7st a couple of sprays and it was covered. I absolutely love your product!

smudges, feels chalky & difficult to apply

I purchased to cover my roots on Christmas Eve, I covered my next and shoulders with a towel as instructed. It was difficult to get an even smooth spreading spray. It left dark spots.I used baby oil on cotton ball to remove over spray. My hair feels chalky and the color spray rubs off on hands even 4 days later so I have to keep washing my hands if I touch my hair so it doesn’t transfer to other things. This does not meet the LOREAL website claim that it dries and doesn’t rub off or smear. This is very messy and expensive since I won’t be able to use the rest of the product.

I have been using this product for months and it works great. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with this last can I purchased. As I was spraying, it exploded all over my hand!! It took me hours to clean my sink and it's still all over my hands. Not happy because this product is not inexpensive!!

Très déçue !!!...j'utilise le.noir et le brun depuis 5 ans et j'ai essayer le rouge vibrant..qu'elle erreur!!! Ça n'a jamais seché dans mes cheveux et j'en ai presque pas mis ..Que sur les racines ..a mon réveil ma belle couverture blanche était tachée rouge tout comme mon front et mon oreiller..je nettoie et par chance cest partie..je me fais une queue de cheval et ouachhhh mes mains tout rouge!!!!! Je nai jamais u ce problème avec les autres couleurs que se passe til avec le.rouge!!???..jamais je n'en rachèterai.. très décevant surtout au prix quil se vend!!

Horrible. It works but it smells like the Halloween color spray. The product feels like paint on my hair. It got all over my house. Now i just relaized it stained my new pillow.

Quick and easy coverage!

It does come out of the can in more of a blast than a spray. It does cover quite well and my grays were nicely blended in. The scent is a little cloying for me but it faded. This washed out easily as well. Overall, good for fast touch ups!

The packaging was simple to open and the Application method was very user friendly , there was no chemical scent which was a bonus .
I plan on trying out a lighter shade now that I know that the color I chose was a bit too dark , but it sure covered my gray hairs . And with my hair pulled back it blended well .

Love L'oreal magic root cover up permanent hair color. I have used it many time. Only complaint is I wish it was made for multiple uses, at least 2.
I only ever use half and have to throw half away, which is a big waste if product. No my hair isnt short its long to mid back. I only cover top roots which is why it only takes half the bottle. I know there used to be a product that had a 2 sided bottle with the different products on each side that you could mix as you need it.

The problem is that the texture was very dry and to be honest it looked like shoe polish on my hair. The shade range is good for those who need to find a perfect match . I did not notice a scent so it will not cause a problem for people with asthma or allergies. It was not for me. I prefer a natural product that blends with my hair coloring.
