Take your arches to the next level with these grooming and product tips for your best eyebrows ever.
Believe it or not, your eyebrows are your secret weapon when it comes to creating a polished appearance. When properly groomed, they act like a frame for your eyes and face and can even give your makeup a unique touch—or provide a little extra definition on those days when you don’t feel like wearing much makeup at all. Check out three of our favourite arch trends and the best eyebrow makeup to achieve each one.
What are some eyebrow makeup looks I can try?
There are quite a few different eyebrow shapes that are on trend (thankfully, not over-plucked ’80s brows, though!). Here are the top three:
Which brow makeup should I use to achieve perfect eyebrows?
The eyebrow products you choose will depend on the brow style you want to create—whether subtle or dramatic—on any given day. Follow this guide for the best eyebrows (truly!) no matter which aesthetic you’re digging.
If you want that natural look…
Try L’Oréal Paris Brow Artist Xpert . It’s an easy to use waterproof mechanical pencil with a triangular tip that lets you apply a soft, natural look to brows, letting you shade and fill in your arches as much or as little as necessary.
If you’re feeling boyish but want a bit of extra definition…
You have a couple of choices: L’Oréal Paris L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Frame & Set (available in Blonde, Light Brunette, Dark Brunette and Warm Brunette), a potted gel pomade with 24-hour waterproof wear, or L’Oréal Paris L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Boost & Set (in four amazing shades including Clear, Blonde, Light Brunette and Dark Brunette), a volumizing brow mascara with a gel formula to set brows and a super slim angeld brush that makes precise application a cinch.
If it’s time to make a statement…
Go for L’Oréal Paris Unbelieva’Brow, a long-wear brow gel that lasts up to 48 hours (!). Paint on this gel for a temporary tint that gives you sculpted arches in a waterproof formula. For even more definition, trace each brow with the concealer end of the dual-tipped L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Brow Raiser (in Light, Medium or Deep), and then highlight beneath your brow with the highlighter end. Set with clear eyebrow gel.
Where should my eyebrows start and end? Where should the arch be?
Take a pencil, ruler or any long, straight item and hold it along the side of your nose up to your forehead—straight up and down. Where the inner side of the pencil lands on your brow is where it should start. Now hold that same pencil from the corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye (left side of the nose, outer corner of left eye, for example). The upper side of where your pencil lands is where the brow should end. Now look straight ahead and hold the pencil next to your nose, over the pupil of your eye and up to your forehead. Where the pencil hits is where the arch of your eyebrow should be.
Are there any brow no-nos?
Yes!
The more you know! Try your fave brow look a few times and you’ll never want to leave the house without grooming your arches again.
