Usage
How to apply semi-permanent hair color:
48h before colouring do the allergy test.
Step 1: While wearing gloves and avoiding direct contact with the scalp, apply product to clean and dry hair. Be sure to saturate hair with product.
Step 2: Set a timer between 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Keeping the gloves on, rinse hair thoroughly with water after processing.
Step 4: Style as usual

Used as directed and when I rinsed my hair, all the color rinsed out. So I was left with the same color I had before starting. Very disappointed.

Great colour, long lasting!

I decided to dye the underside of my dirty blonde hair orchard purple and absolutely loved it! It did however last a very long time! It’s still there but faded 4 1/2 months later! So if you decided to use it please make sure if you have blonde hair you are committed!

Stains horribly

Followed the directions correctly. And it turned my head purple. Even after shampooing and rinsing till water runs clear and blowing drying my hair. Twice! My neck is purple and my hands from when I put my hair up.

Fades great when diluted!

I’ve bought both hot pink and the purple 400! I diluted both with quite a bit of conditioner just to be safe because I have bleach blonde hair that I worked hard to get and I don’t want the colour to permanently stain. Both washed out and faded all the way back to blonde ! And they looked stunning throughout the whole fading process!

I used the L'Oréal Colorista semi permanent in shade Metallic Fuchsia. I have always only tried soft/light pinks in my hair. I have not found 1 that will deposit & last. It fades so fast & washes out...that's if I'm lucky for it to even deposit at all. Now I'm 100% going to try this in the light shades of pink however they weren't available for purchase..the only shade they had was the fuchsia. This product was like pink on frickin steroids! I could not get this out of my hair. It finally took me doing a vitamin C wash, followed by a bleach bath to get it out. I prolly washed my hair like 50 times before that & it would not budge. So if you are looking for a vibrant long lasting hot pink then this is for you. If you are expecting it to wash out in a short time frame with little commitment then I would look into something else.

Don't expect a washout.

about a hundred shampoos later including dandruff shampoo, clarifying shampoo, vitamin c treatments (ion color remover ascorbic acid), removers mixed with vol 10 developer and lots of very hot water, the color won't budge. Maybe just take the word 'semi' off and call it permanent. Someone egregiously over engineered the staying power of this stuff.

Incredible staying power

I don’t usually do reviews but the metallic pink colour has STAYING POWER. I died it initially July 8th and am touching up my roots October 4th it is still incredibly vibrant. For reference I use Kevin Murphy restore for shampoo so it does not fade the colour

I've used two colours now and I love them! My colour lasts just long enough to make it worthwhile, but short enough that I can switch it up when I get bored of it! Maybe about 3-4 weeks, washing 3x a week

Colour didn’t last one washing 🤬

I put purple in my hair on Wednesday and was happy with the result. I washed my hair for the first time today (two days later) and not only is the purple gone but I have some weird streaks of red! So much for approx. 10 washings … I didn’t even get one! What a crappy product! It’s the first time I’ve done something like this and it was exciting but it turned out to be a major disappointment 🤬

Thank you for your feedback, as this dye is semi permanent it is made to stay in for only a few washings, very temporary. the lasting of the shade is impacted by the shade of the hair the dye is on and also the shampoo used to wash it, Purple and Blue dyes are more visible on very light hair, and cold colours wash out faster than warm colours, so the warm portion of the purple is still visible even after the cold portion has washed out, rest assured the red tones will wash out after a few more washes. we hope this helps your overall experience.

Okay so i applied this product not even a week ago so ill try to think of coming back here to update on how kong it lasted, how it faded....
Okay so I have dark bronw hair but tried myself anyway, i left it for like almost an hour tho... It didnt give the expected color, but i really like the results. It looks like cherry coke color. I should have done some things for it not to stains my face and my neck so thats my bad, but it stains literally everything like never seen before. I rinsed my hair for a long time and already did a shampoo but my fingers become purple after only touching my hair (my hands are still very purple, yes I did use gloves). I stained walls by barely sitting down close to one, I stayed all my t-shirts, even though I only wore black ones, everything I touched in the last week and my bf whole skin, couch...
Unlike usually, the color doesn't seem to leave my skin, no matter how hard I scrub (my neck i bright purple, way more than my hair). So yeah.
By the way that was just my experience. I just wanted to share. I am not hating on the product and its not even been a week so I dont know how it will workout for me yet (like previously talked about). But I mean I'm really happy for the color because I used the product on brown hair and it looks good even if I'm pink!

Purple on fresh bleached hair

Dark hair has to be lifted to blonde to get good color. We also rubbed the dye into the hair with your hands. You have to section it and rub it in. The whole head for just the purple took at hour. We left it in for 2 hrs. My kid loved it. It didn't bleed purple like what people said. No mess

Great colour!! But boy does it stain everything for a very long time!
I am 14 days now washing my hair every day and it had not faded but it has stained absolutely everything I own and ruined many things.
Plus side colour is fantastic and great longevity but also.... I only wanted a 2 week colour and now can't get rid of it. Usually I want a great staying colour and would choose this, but I needed it out and it wont come out so that and the staining I give it a 3 star. I have been colouring my hair every colour for 20 years and this is the worst staining I have ever had, even stainless sink i had to use steel wool on.

Stains when you rinse!

I have tried 4 other colors in the Colorista range, and none of them stain like this one does. I only did the ends of my hair, so I was rinsing it out in the sink, and I'm lucky that I have a pink sink, because I could see the water was leaving behind pink drips/stains on my sink. I had to wipe the sink repeatedly as I rinsed, as I was afraid it was going to set in. I wore gloves while rinsing my hair, until the very end when I thought because the water was running clear I was safe, so I took the gloves off and the remaining color stained my fingernails purple! The results are beautiful, but beware you might ruin some towels and/or your bathroom if you are not careful.

J'ai essayé ce produit (le rose) plus d'une fois en suivant les directives indiquées. Presque tous mes cheveux sont naturellement gris-blanc alors je croyais que la couleur sortirait bien. Malheureusement, la couleur n'a pas pris malgré que j'aie bien saturé mes cheveux. J'ai une ou 2 mèches qui ont pris et une tâche au cuir chevelu donc très inégal pour le reste ça n'a pas pris du tout....Déçue de se produit

my hair is bleach blonde and this barely showed up on my hair except for a couple hot pink strands in the front which is odd since i used soft pink. i had used 2 full boxes and it came out looking like its been washed multiple times

Nightmare! Instantly dyed EVERYTHING it touched

When rinsing the dye out, it immediately dyed everything it touched including my skin down my back and legs, shower tiles, grout, bathtub and plastic shower curtain. I have used MANY other hair dyes including several non-metallic Colorista previously and have never had this experience. AVOID THIS PRODUCT ENTIRELY.

Washed right out!!

Bought the purple colour and it wash right out when we rinsed it from my daughter's hair. Not even a spec of colour and we used the entire tube and left it for 30 minutes!! Total waste of money! I had a very disappointed 5 year old now for her last day of school!

Didn't turn out

My daughters hair is a dark blonde to a light brown. We bought the all over Bleach to lighten it first. That turned out well and then added the purple. After 30 min I washed it and there was barely a difference. I ended up doing it again and still you can hardly notice it. Super disappointed as we were having a girls "spa" day and the kids were so excited and it didn't turn out.

Washed out instantly to a horrible green

Let in my sons hair for 30 mins, he has light blonde hair and we washed it out and all the turquoise washed out and he was left with a horrible light shade of green.

Worst mistake

I bought the soft pink 300 and the pink 200 and mixed them together hoping to get a fun cute cotton candy pink for some odd reason after rinsing it out my hair is a hot pink I don’t know why this would happen i followed the instructions my hair was bleached before I’d put it on so why is my hair hot pink?????

Applied it for a first time like a highlighter and did not really work . Let me tell you I have somewhere between dark and medium hair . Applied it to all my hair for second time, like the whole hair and I got an mazing result. It gives a green hue to hair. Sure it turned my hair darker but gave it green tint which is lovely. It’s recommended for lighter hair however . But ai am happy with the result.

Did my 6 year olds hair for fun and now she is blue. I am worried sick about the amount of dye seeping into her skin. Do Not Use. I’ve rinsed twice, shampooed twice, and she is blue all over her neck, ears, face, hands. Soap barely gets it off and then it comes back.

Highlighted hair? DO NOT USE - turns hair green

What a horribly misleading product this is. I have highlighted blonde hair and put this in at first for Halloween and for something fun. What a mistake. I loved the blue at first, but after about a week, it faded to an ugly peppermint green, and stayed that way. Absolutely nothing worked, I tried all the solutions, even their Color Remover product. Eventually I paid $200 for my hairdresser to spend 4 hours stripping my hair, coloring it red, and it is now an auburn / golden colour, all highlights gone. The only way to get rid of the green. If you don't mind having permanently green hair, it's fine, but be warned because L'Oreal sure as hell don't warn you.

Well, the box is pretty

My daughter has natural golden blonde hair, virgin hair. I bought the Colorista 7-15 wash for the first time. I did her top layer purple, and bottom layer teal. Experienced with dying hair, so it was well saturated, and we left it on for over 25 minutes, then rinsed. Her top layer is now a dark dishwater blonde color, not a hint of purple, and the under layer has random areas that took the teal that are just tinted a bluish hue and the rest is ashy blonde. This was a complete dud and huge waste of money! Not to mention my daughter is super disappointed.

I bought this yesterday. My hair are dark. It says on the box; if hair dark, pre-lighten with colorista bleaches; which I did.
The bleach worked great! But this....NOT!! As you can see in my picture, this is far away from purple!! Very disappointed!
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have natural blonde hair. I dyed it with the blue colorista about 2 months ago. The color was okay. Not as vibrant as I expected, but figured it just didn't want to take into my natural hair. Still fun, but the color started to fade immediately. No biggie.
Funnily though, it's now 2 months later and my hair still has a tinge of green from it fading out of my hair. It's been several weeks now that the green has been there, not much changing on the daily. It's only slightly noticeable, but it's still here. This color was for blondes, unlike the more vibrant colors. I thought it was supposed to make sure it doesn't stain hair. Looks like they should work on their formula. Other brands' products will stain my hair for about just as long, but at least I get a couple of months of fabulous color before the fade/stain. Plus with other brands I am not limited to 3 colors because of my natural blonde hair.
So just a word of caution to all out there. The initial color doesn't last long at all, and if you are doing it on light hair or bleached hair, the faded color will stick for a long long while.

Je l'ai essayé...Premièrement la teinture a bien pris sur mes cheveux blond pâles...mais après 3-4 jours la teinture avait complètement disparue de ma frange, me laissant avec un look vraiment pas joli. Puis, la teinture n'est jamais complètement parti de mes cheveux et même dix mois plus tard mes cheveux étaient toujours tachés. Ce n'est pas de la teinture semi-permanente... c'est de la teinture permanente. À ne pas acheter si vous voulez que la teinture parte avec le temps. Elle reste.

I have used multiple colors! I have dark blonde hair and found the blue wanted to stick around a while. Luckily the fader shampoo is magic when i needed it out after a month used that a it was gone! Love this brand for fun switch up especially during covid!

I bought this about a week ago and was so surprised with how well it took, turned out amazing! But then EVERYTHING started to turn blue, I have washed it soooo many times but every time I touch it my hands turn blue, my clothes? Blue. My sheets? Blue. My neck? Constantly blue. Makes me look like a smurf.

I don’t understand the bad reviews on here, I absolutely love this product!! It was an awesome surprise when it went from a purple to blue hue! My only complaint is that it doesn’t stay dark very long & I’d have to refresh it once a week but one bottle was good enough for it to be perfect for two weeks! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! THANK YOU!!!

NOT TEMPORARY

This product has stained my hair. It has been in for over 8 months and nothing will take it out. It has faded into a drained, green colour and I hate it. I used it because I didn't want to ruin my hair with dye but this is a horrible product for anyone who actually wants it to be temporary.
