For a fraction of the price of other illuminating products, this is absolutely lovely. It provides a gorgeous, luminously natural finish, and is all I need for a summery, sun-kissed look. I have an olive complextion and brown eyes and use the light colour, sometimes mixed with the medium.

At my mid-sixties, my make-up routine is in need of a big overhaul - so I've been trying different products across the board from drug-store brands to Sephora-stocked items. I stumbled upon a Martha Stewart-inspired product review for Lumi-Glo and realised I've been searching in the wrong age-bracket. That is, I've been looking at make-up popularized by the 40-50-something-year-olds. Martha is almost 20 years my senior - if something works for her, there's an even chance it will work for me. First of all - I'm a little skeptical that anything that sells in a drugstore actually touches Martha's face, but putting that aside, I bought a bottle anyway. Result: I'm chucking the powders, foundations and concealer sticks in my make-up drawer. As a fair-haired, very white-skinned woman with some exciting wrinkling going on, as well as some sun spotting, I chose the lightest skin tone (901). My skin has not looked this good in years. And I take good care of this skin. Why it turned on me to begin with, I'll never know, but it doesn't matter now.
