Usage
Apply along the top and bottom lash line beginning in the inner corner of the eye and working outward. Suitable to use on the inner rim in the waterline. For a more colorful look, use with another shade of Infallible Pro-Last pencil eyeliner. Eyeliner can be sharpened using a makeup pencil sharpener.

The 4 days of wear I got out of it was great … looked like it was just a “twist up”, but no… it’s a sharpen. I own several sharpeners… this is a joke , never sharpens without sharp edges, even putting into the fridge as recommended it’s never the same … Lets do better . Shame on me for trying something new … Not something I’d ever recommend

The eyeliner works great until you need to sharpen then it’s useless have tried multiple ways to try to sharpen with no luck. This product should be better from Loreal.

Oh no Carol, we completely understand your frustration! There is nothing more annoying than a great eyeliner that becomes impossible to sharpen when you need it most. You are totally right—you deserve a reliable tool from start to finish. There can be a slight learning curve to getting a good point restored. These new generation gel liners need a sharp blade and gentle touch to sharpen well. For best results don’t try to push the pencil into the sharpener. At the slightest resistance, you’re in far enough. Gently turn and shave off a thin layer to reveal more liner. Pushing the pencil in too far will cause the blade to grab too much of the resin, the pencil won’t sharpen well that way.
If its been awhile since you bought a new sharpener, you’ll be surprised the difference a fresh blade can make. Its also possible your liner is not up to the usual standard for this liner. Wish I'd read reviews first and maybe could have saved money. Liked everything about it till it needed sharpening. Just won't work. I tried sharpeners, knife, razor. Every time I think im close tip breaks off. How are you suppose to sharpen it?

Worst purchase ever!

I bought this 2 weeks ago and now need to sharpen it the bottom part of it twists like it twists it up but it doesn't actually go anywhere. And I haven't had to sharpen an eyeliner since the 90s! I'm surprised that such a well-known company like L'Oreal would continue selling such a mediocre product knowing the reviews on it. Back to the competition I go!

Design flaw

Just purchased this pencil on Tuesday, by today I needed to sharpen it. The pencil was destroyed by the sharper,and is now in the garbage. What a waste of money!

An Unpleasant Experience

The good: This product has excellent pigmentation and the color itself is beautiful. It’s a perfect neutral brown that is less harsh than black, for a more natural look. It really is waterproof.
The bad and the ugly: I bought this pencil to tight-line my eyes as I like to go for a more natural look. This product is too goopy. I put it in the refrigerator overnight to see if the product would become a little firmer, while still being smooth enough to glide on my eyes without tugging. It did not harden and does not keep its point long enough to even line one eye. The application is messy and the product clumps and fails to blend seamlessly, and this is after diligently prepping my eye area. Not only is the application of this a product a terrible and frustrating experience, but the formula is also irritating to the eyes and overwhelmingly difficult to remove.
L’Oreal has some wonderful products, but this one really is not one of them.

Disappointed

I bought this pencil today and it doesn’t glide at all. I thought sharpening it would help but it is still very dry. It tugs and pulls on the skin so I don’t know how I am supposed to use on a sensitive area like eyes. I don’t know if I got an expired product of what but very disappointed in the product because I bought it after seeing videos of some influencers using it. Now this is a complete waste of money for me. I need a resolution for this.

I bought this pencil last week. Loved how it glided on. Then I needed to sharpen it. Impossible! Like other reviews- not doable. Plus the pencil will NOT advance so it’s unusable. Total waste of money. I notice the response from L’Ordeal going back years to this repeated complaint is this concern will be passed on to the team for review. Time to fit it!

Love the product. HATE the presentation

Love the product but hate the presentation. After opening the first 4 lines it's impossible to sharpen the pencil, I've tried so many different sharpeners always with the same result: the middle breaks apart and smudges all over the sharpener, the otter layer chips and it's a hazard to try to put it next to your eyeballs ever again....but those few lines at the beginning are perfection!!! I got the bronze and the color last all day. Really hope the presentation would change for a plastic twist pencil or something functional

Sharpening solution for pro last eye pencil

Love this pencil. It glides on easy because it's a soft pencil. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the only way to advance the pencil was to use a sharpener because soft pencils usually crumble in a sharpener. I read the reviews and this was always the complaint. The company came back with " use a sharpener, don't push the pencil while sharpening, turn slowly 3-4 times". So I tried that making sure it did not grab the soft part but only the black casing around the soft pencil part. It worked! The key is to not push the pencil into the blade. Insert it but don't jamb the end.. Gently turn it like they say. It will grab the black casing and do it's job.

Best pencil ever!!

I went onto the L’Oréal website to find the name of the pencil I use cause my husband bought the wrong one. I use this pencil so much I’m down to about an inch left of it. To the reviews that mentions that it doesn’t sharpen I’m confused, like what sharpeners are you guys using. I have a cheap 4 sharpener from maybelline and it sharpens my pencil perfectly every time. This is my 12th pencil I’ve purchased and I honestly hope these reviews won’t discontinue it.

I love this eyeliner I used it on my wedding day in 2023 and have been repurchasing ever since. It lasted all night! It sharpens perfectly fine in my opinion. I did read the reviews about people having trouble sharping them and never had the issue tbh. But that’s because I use a cheap pencil sharpener to sharpen all my liners instead of a cosmetic sharpener. Since it’s a thicker plastic. some cosmetic sharpeners are made for plastic liners and some aren’t so it really depends on the sharpener

I don’t understand the negative comments, my only negative would be the color choices.
I have watery mature eyes (58) and have a horrible time keeping eyeliner on. I’ve tried more expensive ones that claim to stay but they don’t.
Once this is on, it stays! If I work quickly, I can blend it a bit.
I just wish there were more shades without shimmer.
This is now a staple part of my makeup routine.

I should have read the reviews before I purchased this. This pencil CAN NOT be sharpened and the reviews reflect this. I tried 3 different sharpeners and did it "gently" as suggested - nope, still can't sharpen. I can't believe you still offer this item. The reviews from 7 YEARS AGO talk about the same issues with sharpening. Shame on you!

No info for sharpening! Disappointing product!

Liked this product once I realized a light touch was needed. After a week, it needed sharpening, and thought the other end rotated to produce more pencil "lead." Nope. Then I used my excellent sharpener, which has worked for everything else...Nope. Was concerned that I was ruining my sharpener...I'll be returning the other Infallible gel mechanical liner I bought...too expensive for me...bought it for the grey color and waterproof feature. Don't waste your money!

Is the most horrible pencil I have ever purchased in my entire life and believe you may I’ve been wearing make up for 55 years. I’ve always loved L’Oreal‘s products but not this one. It’s soft it gives you too thick of a line then you can’t shape your line and definitely You can’t sharpen it and I can’t get it to come up anymore and I’ve only used it two times.

I have never been able to get a good point on this pencil to use it. I thrown most of it away emptying the sharpener. Very disappointed in this product.

When you use the 1/4 inch point before you sharpen it, it’s an OK product but once you try to sharpen it, it’s useless. The plastic that you sharpen is so hard that it mostly just breaks the eyeliner. I’ve purchased it twice,
Now I’m done!

Despite the plastic appearance this is a sharpenable pencil. We recommend using a makeup sharpener and turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. Your sharpener should be replaced whenever the blade has dulled and is no longer giving the expected results. We hope this information helps and you give it another try!

Waste of money

I agree with everyone else. I liked it when I first started using it but once the usable part was gone I can’t get any more to come out of the tube so there’s nothing to sharpen. What a complete waste of money. Probably won’t be trying L’Oréal again.

The liner you purchased does not swivel, its sharpened with any good makeup sharpener. Absolute garbage

The lead crumbles off in small bits and clumps up at the root of your lashes, making them stick together. It also needs to be sharpened to a very fine point if you want a clean, thin line; otherwise, it's going to smudge everywhere. Just absolutely awful, I wouldn't pay $2 for this.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This eye pencil needs a redesign!

Love the pencil when it's new, but trying to sharpen it is crazy. Loreal needs to change the design or something. Lots of customers have said the same thing.

Can't sharpen the pencil

I liked the way it went on. However, I was only able to use it twice because I could not sharpen the pencil. If I could sharpen the pencil I would purchase it again.

Waste of money

The eyeliner is very soft and glides easily. But none the less this product is not worth purchasing due to the fact it is almost impossible to sharpen. The bottom of the pencil rotates which would indicate it will extend more of the eyeliner but it does not extend anything. It shouldn't even be there because it is confusing and frustrating. Once I figured out it doesn't work that way I tried to sharpen it. Total agrravation. It broke apart, sharp edges which ended up scraping my eyelid and was now unusable. I threw it in the trash. I will not buy this product again. Total waste of money.
