How does tone on tone formula work ?
A tone-on-tone formula contains two products: a colouring cream and a developer. The same way as traditional hair colour, the two components need to be mixed before application.
A tone-on-tone hair dye primarily provides to the consumers reflects without changing the tone level of their hair. The reflects fade over time without a "root effect". Moreover, it can provide optimal coverage of grey hair up to 70% (depending on the shade), whereas classic oxidative colouring can provide up to 100% coverage.
Tone on tone is not recommended for people who have more than 70% of grey hair or for people who want a lighter colour than they currently have.
What is the difference compared to a traditional hair color ?
Compared to a traditional hair color, meaning a permanent hair dye, the tone-on-tone hair color does not change the tone level of hair, meaning it is not for hair transformation. The processing time is shorter (20min) and Casting Crème Gloss has been formulated with a low concentration of alkaline agents. This low concentration of MEA reduce the opening of the cuticles to :
- Allow soft penetration of dyes inside the hair resulting in a lower hair sensitizing colouration process compared to permanent hair color.
- Reduce the lift and ensure a minimum rootline effect.
How long tone on tone lasts? Does it change between hair types?
Casting Crème Gloss lasts up to 32 shampoos, it will slowly and gradually fade overtime with no rootline effect. This fading depends also on the quality of the hair, so it can change from one to another.
