Usage
Dab a small amount of foundation on the centre of your forehead, under your eyes and on your nose and chin. Using your fingers, a brush or a makeup sponge, spread the foundation outwards and blend.

Great foundation but issues with shade consistency

I bought a new 2C and it was so much darker than my previous bottle. So I tried the 1.75C and it was way too light! So now I mix them together… I need help finding the right shade without buying more bottles that don’t work. Love the foundation but please help!!

Perfect colour

I have never been able to match my correct colour- I uploaded pictures of my face in chatgpt and it came up with this brand and shade- ITS CRAZY how well it works. I bought every product out there- and I have been to the boutiques for colour matching- but nothing comes close to how perfect this is. Use natural light and upload 5 photos at least. I love how moisturizing it is as well.

too dark and warm

i bought the lightest, coolest toned foundation for my pale cool toned skin and its still too dark and warm/ yellowy on me. it looks okay but its a totally different shade than my neck :( .Make actual light/ cool toned shades pls!!!!

Oxidation!!

Great foundation but the oxidation is extremely bad! As an olive toned person, this foundation turns orange really fast. It’s great for anyone with warm undertones. Overall, the texture is smooth and full coverage.

Perfect for my rotisserie chicken cosplay

SOOO ORANGE. Unwearably so. I have neutral toned skin, but feared the neutral toned foundation would be too orange, so to be safe I got the cool toned. I should have just gotten a different foundation all together, because even the cool toned foundation was too orange.
I was wearing a tank top when I put this on, so if I blended it into my neck so there wouldn't be a big orange line between neck and face, I would basically have to blend it down my chest and arms to it could match (which would be stupid).
Maybe part of the issue is that it's too dark, but had I gotten it in one shade lighter, which I have used before, it would have been way too light and so I'm more inclined to think the orange-y nature of the product is the problem.
It's one redeeming quality is that it has a nice finish.
I would also like to add that although it evens out skin tone, it DOES NOT COVER blemishes.

Horrible upgrade strongly scented

I work in the makeup industry and have used and recommended this foundation to clients for years! Even before my career started I was using the little jars of these back in high school. The latest Verizon claims to be scent free but it is not only scented it's ridiculously strong. I can't stand it! The scent last a long time and the actual foundation on now super runny. I can shake the bottle and it sounds like runny water inside. I still have my previous bottle where the thickness was just right and you can't hear a sound when shook. Please bring back the only formula!

So disappointed

I have been using L’Oréal true match foundation for years. I was so happy I’d found a foundation that provided a cool undertone. When they switched to the pump I was disappointed as it was wasteful and harder to control the amount. But the latest version is so horrible I threw it in the garbage. What a waste of money. It’s VERY watery and doesn’t provide the coverage it once did. And why have they discontinued the SPF coverage? That was a plus for the original version. I am so disappointed they have taken a good product and completely ruined it. I now have to search for a new brand

First actual match for my skin tone!

Mid 40s, mature caucasian skin, cool undertones, with tendency to look pink (sigh) Most foundation either looks way too orange or too pale ie “white” cast.
I purchased 0.5C. It’s a very nice match. First time I’ve found something that actually blends in soo nice. Evens out skin tone but it’s somewhat transparent so if you have some age spots it will reduce appearance but not fully cover. But overall looks very nice and feels nice to put on. Not goopy.
One issue I have is this pump bottle. It jams and spirts and makes a bit of a mess as it sort of wastes stuff at the top. Definitely some sort of issue with it. It’s not too goopy of a foundation so not sure why.
I will purchase again.

Just bought this, foundation applied horribly. It was patchy and collected in spots. I redid my makeup twice trying to make it work but just look awful. Extremely disappointed with the product especially for the cost. I wish I could return and get my money back. Such a waste.

Hate the pump container

I am so disappointed in these changes after 30 years of use I purchased the 4R 4C thinking it was the same as my previous 4C but NOT! Just a waste of a pensioners $20 ! I now will have to go to the cosmetic department to find a match from another company.

I'm 54yrs old and I love this foundation! Excellent coverage and blends to look so natural! The hyaluronic acid moisturizes your skin and gives it a dewy, youthful glow. Ladies, don't overdo it wit the foundation! Blend well using a preferred blending sponge. Always prep your skin with a moisturizer and a quality primer prior to applying your foundation for optimal results. ❤️

I LOVED the old formula and colours. For the life of me, I cannot find a good "winter" colour for me in the new colours. I found a summer one (darker). Last winter I had to actually mix 2 colours together. What a pain! Please go back to the old colours and formula - all we needed was a pump bottle!

Très satisfaite du produit. J’ai pris une teinte rosée, mais il parait jaune. Par contre, sur la peau, il devient rosé juste comme il faut. J’en mets peu mais unifie bien la peau et pores moins visibles. Excellent prix/qualité! J’ai une peau mature et mixte, un peu de poudre matifiante et c’est parfait !

I am truly disappointed in the "new" True Match. Colours pull yellow when compared to the old formula. We don't new another additive (Hyaloronic acid) added. Why is everyone on the HA band wagon I use my own base prior to application. Don't like the finish. It felt like heaven to put on the old formula. Would you pls. just repackage it and bring it back. I would gladly pay a higher price point.

New formula burns my skin

I have extremely sensitive skin, but I was able to use the old formula without any problems. I purchased a bottle of the new formula, and after using it two times it feels like my face is burned. I have areas of red and splotches that itch and burn all over my face. Fortunately, I was able to find the old formula on Amazon, and purchased that. I will never use the new formula again, obviously.

Breaking up with my foundation

I have been using true match for a decade...prior to this I was a faithful MAC user.
I can't believe how watery this foundation is, and how quickly it runs out. Finding a colour match now is a nightmare. Listen to.your long term customers and bring back the original.

This is so much better than the old formula. The old one was cakey, and drying, don't believe the negative comments claiming "the foundation I bought 25 YeArS aGo was soo much better" it wasn't. Use a damp sponge or a buffing brush on MOISTURIZED skin (wait a couple mins before applying foundation to let skincare sink in) and it will look good. Yes, if you wash your face and apply this foundation rubbing it over your dry skin it will look bad, just like most would.

Bring back the old formula

Love the pump, but I'm so disappointed in the new formula, it's very watery and doesn't blend as well. I don't understand what the logic was in removing the SPF from the formula and replacing it with hyaluronic acid, when the True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum exists? Anyone looking for HA could just buy the Nude one, and you could have kept the old formula the same. Why ruin a good thing that people have loved for literal decades?

I too have used the former formula for decades and I am so disappointed with the new version. The original formula was so wonderful and truly blendable. One can only hope that L’Oréal will bring the original formula back. If anyone knows of a foundation similar to original true match, please share! This new version simply does not come close.

I have been using true match LITERALLY since it came out 25 years ago!!!!! My fried. Who works for Lancôme recommended it to me and I ESPECIALLY loved the included sunscreen! I’m almost 56 and I’m constantly complimented on my skin. New product SMELLS HORRIBLE!!! Doesn’t cover and the colors tints don’t match my skin tone. It’s in the trash…. Looking for new product and it won’t be L’Oréal unfortunately. Listen to the reviews!

I’ve been buying the same true match for over 20 years. It was perfect because it was reliable. It had sunscreen, which is better for the skin than any moisturizer. Bring the classic back. You can continue to offer this new one as an alternative.

Loreal, all we asked for was a pump, we did not ask you to change the entire formula and shades. My old shade was W5 and I can't find anything similar to it in the new shades (the new W5 is so orangey), on top of that, the new formula is way too runny and contains sparkles. Please bring back the old formula and shades, they were so much better.

Terrible changing of the product. I was in love with the original foundation and had been buying it for 2 years. And now they changed it??? What used to be a dream product with the perfect shade, consistency, and natural look is a joke. It’s oily, not natural looking, and these new shades are ridiculous. I used to wear the shade N5.5 perfect beige and it’s not even an option to try and see your new shade!! This was L’oréal’s biggest mistake. I cant believe I won’t be able to get an amazing product anymore. This is the worst “improvement” of a product. Why they changed it I don’t know. I’m begging. Please change it back!!! Or at least bring back the old consistency and shades back. Terrible “upgrade” of a product. Super disappointing and I would give it zero stars if I could.

I used True Match in Buff Beige N4 in old bottle since it first came out 15 years ago. I've been looking to replace my now empty foundation and can't find it ANYWHERE! Will this new foundation make my color again or what is equivalent to N4 Buff Beige? Like other reviews stated "if it ain't broke why fix it!"

The packaging has changed and the Super Blendable Face Foundation now comes in a new pump bottle design. If you were using the 4N before, we would recommend trying the 5C in the new formula.

Loreal…listen to the feedback. I have used true match since it came out. The new shades are terrible compared to the original. My previous shade was in the cool range 3C. Your chart converts that to Rose Peach? Ick. The new packaging is wasteful. What a shame. Do not recommend.

Need I say more? I've been using this product for 15 years - I found it in high school and have never changed teams. I don't like the new applicator (pump) / price point / change in consistency, it's a completely different product now.

The old true match was such an amazing product at a fantastic price point. I used to get so many compliments. I must have sold over a hundred bottles just by referral because of all the compliments. 3N was my colour and there’s nothing that compares to it in the new formulation. Even this website says a match for 3N doesn’t exist. Ugh.. sigh. On the hunt for a new foundation :( I get L’Oréal trying to evolve and for some reason adding HA to foundation, but it was totally unnecessary and you made a lot of customers unhappy. Also, if you have any old 3N true match laying around, care to help a sista out and send ‘em over my way :)

Disappointed in new packaging

I have been using this product for years and was a loyal customer up until I went to purchase again and there was new packaging with extra plastic added. Not cool. I will look at alternatives that don’t produce as much waste. Too bad because I liked the product.
