The last one I purchased was about 2 months ago and I took it back because I thought I had a faulty tube. There's hardly any product on the wand. Shoppers did replace it but it's the same. Talk about the "shrinkage" theory. It sure applies to this product.

Quality has gone down

I’ve been using this product for years and it’s very obvious to me that the quality has gone downhill. It now requires several coats to make any sort of difference, and the bottle doesn’t last long. Really disappointed in the new formula. The old one was so much better.

This was so disappointing! I have loved this primer for years and never went without. I recently bought some for the first time in a while and I thought I bought a bad tube. That is actually why I came to look at the reviews and I see that it's not just me it's happened to many people. Hardly any product on the wand and had to apply about four layers to even come close to what the old formula gave to my lashes. Once I spent the time to fish the wand around in the (near empty) tube and got multiple layers on my lashes.the effect was ok, but not like it used to be. Bummer!

This primer grips to the wand versus getting on your lashes. It takes lots of effort to get it on your lashes. Not sure if a defective product or just how it is

L'Oreal what happened to the formula?? I started purchasing this mascara primer years ago because it was a great dupe for a high-end mascara primer, and who doesn't like to save $$$. I am not sure what happened but this new formula is extremely disappointing.

Very Disappointed

I’ve used this product for years and have had great results. Recently, I’ve noticed a big change and no longer get the thicker, longer lashes I’ve come to expect. Thought at first that I got a bad tube, threw it out, but realize after doing this several times that it’s a new formula. It doesn’t come close to the old one and I’m looking for another brand to replace it with.

Agree with others who are recognizing this primer is no longer the PERFECT product that it once was; seems like the change came along with the new gold line on the packaging.

No longer good .

What happened…..my favorite primer now says base, isn’t white anymore and is like not using a primer. My old tube is better than the new one I just bought. What happened and I hope I can find another brand. Now I feel stupid for recently recommending it to someone!

Bring back the old formula!

I’ve used this for years, but I’m now switching to another brand. It used to be fantastic, but now there’s barely any product in the tube, and I end up throwing it away after only a few uses. I thought maybe I had a bad batch, but this has now happened several times.

Used to be great

So disappointed. Used to but this product and it worked great. Since the beginning of this year something is different -The tubes have literally NO product in them. Im on my 8th one -all from different locations and same thing. A long time user of Loreal and no more.

What happened? , so sad

I don’t know what happened. I usually buy in 4 ata time and since I used my old ones I bought 4 new ones and they are garbage. They just plain don’t work. I’m crushed. I used to be able to create these magic eyelashes out of my short ones and now it just looks like nothing. I’m heartsick. I know it’s been a while since I purchased but now I have 4 that I just want to pitch I. The garbage. I’m so sad, what happened?

Formula Change—ugh!!

Have used this product or Lancôme’s product for YEARS. the last tube from L’Oréal was difficult to apply and took way to long to get the coverage. Very disappointing and would not recommend.

I've been buying this for more than a decade. Old formula was unreal. New formula packaging with the gold band around the tube is awful. It stays wet and does not lengthen, define, or thicken my lashes anymore. I used to have people accuse me of having extensions. The old formula was a bit tacky and sticky in a good way that dried down. Almost a bit like glue. The new formula feels like lotion. It does nothing. In fact, I think it actually makes my lasges look worse when I use it compared to when I don't. Extremely disappointed. Will never repurchase.
No, I do not recommend this product.

New Formula?? Huge disappointment

I'm another one that has been using the Voluminous Primer for YEARS! What happened??? I just opened the first tube of the new packaging with the gold band and I'm assuming it's a new formula. Nothing close to the results I had with the old product. I don't know what has changed, but I used to get asked often what mascara I used because my lashes were unreal. None of my mascara performed as well as it did the the old Voluminous Primer. It looked like I had lash extensions and volume out the wazoo. It definitely doesn't coat as well or build as well as before. I would say that the old version was like a push up bra for your eye lashes, bigger, better, right where they should be. The new version is sort of like wearing a bralette. It's there, but it isn't doing anything. I know it's not an overnight process, but L'Oreal....you gotta bring back the O.G. I used this faithfully, even put it up against Lancome Definicils Primer back in the day. No comparison.

New eyelash primer formula

This was by far the best eyelash primer on the market. The new formula is absolutely terrible and does not work at all. I have been looking at different stores in hopes of finding the older formula (without the gold stripe on top). I have gotten lucky a few times, but in hopes of the corporation converting back to the old formula I decided to write a review. I see there are many others that feel the same way.

No longer the same

I’m crying! Why did you change a fantastic formula?!?! This used to be the best and now it’s utter rubbish. I’ve used this for ages as my holy grail. Now I’m on the hunt. And the Lash Paradise primer changed, so that’s out. And did you also change the Double Extend’s primer side? I recently bought it again after years of not, and it’s rubbish as well. Incredibly sad and frustrated.

Read directions before applying

Well unfortunately I threw away the box before reading the directions. I applied it like I do my mascara thought I had to let it dry and then I went back to try to put my mascara on. It was very difficult to put my mascara on because my lashes were hard and crunchy. Then I googled the product and read you are only supposed to do one eye with the primer then apply the mascara then repeat with the other eye. Will come back and review again when I apply it right.

I started using this when I was going through chemo and radiation 5.5 years ago. I lost almost all of my eyelashes and plain mascara only emphasized the fact that my lashes were a mess!! When I started using this, it made my eyes look so much better!! As my eyelashes began to grow back, I noticed this appeared to also add length to my lashes. Now I use it to tame my curly eyelashes (that's how they grew back after my 2 years of cancer treatments) and to keep that added volume going! 1 or 2 swipes and then mascara and my eye lashes look long, thick and most importantly, NATURAL!

I bought this and was excited because I have used primers before but the only problem is I curl my lashes first and because it isnt waterproof it caused my lashes to go straight..please make this in waterproof formula as well..

Leaves clumpy

Wiped off the lash brush left a little bit of the primer on and it’s still left clumps all over my lashes not very pretty therefore caused the mascara to be extra extra clumpy I do not recommend this product whatsoever

I feel like this helped lengthen my lashes, but unfortunately it also made them stick together so they looked very clumpy when I applied mascara overtop. I didn't notice enough of a good effect to purchase this in the future.

This primer goes on whiteish (which would be great if you wanted to use colored mascara) and help your eyelashes firm and curl so they look a lot longer. Overall I'm very happy with this and would buy it again.

Trust me i have tried them all! I was recommended to use the primer as a base to help the mascara stick.
