Usage
Apply step 1 to lashes, and immediately follow with step 2 – no need to wait for drying time in between. Place each brush at the base of lashes and gently sweep up from root to tip.

Awful product

I just bought this product yesterday. I’m highly disappointed. I had to apply many coats to get some colors on my lashes then they all clamped together. When it came to remove my makeup it was a nightmare. I didn’t come off, I had to run my eyes so many times that at the end when I looked at the makeup removing pad I saw all my own lashes . It literally ripped off my eye lashes. Very disappointed.

Did the formula change? (sigh)

It seems that Loreal may have changed the formula for this product. It has been my tried and true, go-to mascara for years! It lengthened and defined my lashes, it didn't smudge or flake off - but it did wash off easily with soap and water. Perfection!! The last 3 tubes I've tried all have the same issue. It will not wash off. I don't want to risk pulling out my eyelashes trying to remove this stuff. What happened??

Still my favorite after 17 years

I've been using Double Extend since 2009. It's literally the only mascara that doesn't smudge under my eyes. My only complaint is that eventually it will start to flake a little bit after the tube is a few months old. It's affordable enough though that I throw that one away and buy a new tube. I really don't know what I'll do if L'Oreal ever stops making this mascara

I've been using this mascara for years. It is highly underrated. Much cheaper than other tubing mascaras. I honestly think that L'Oreal should spend more $ promoting this product.

I have tried SO many tubing mascaras, cheap to expensive. This is the BEST one out there. 1-star because Loreal needs to make this without the primer. I'm paying $20 for half a tube of mascara.

Not top quality

I bought this because I have sensitive eyes and had read that tubing mascara was less likely to flake. That may be true but this mascara is very clumpy and hard to apply because of the clumps, and very difficult to remove with just soap and water. You literally have to pull it off your lashes. I will never buy it again.

Sticks to skin.

This product is garbage. I bought a second tube thinking it must have been a bad batch and nope. It sticks to my skin top and bottom lashes, and over curls so much that the tips of my eyelashes bend backwards like hooks, actually making them look shorter. Have never had this problem with a mascara in the past. Perhaps the curl feature works for some people, I could get over that aspect if it wasn’t for the clumping and sticking to my skin part which is the absolute worst. Sticky clumping over curling and gross.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Fair - the primer was non-existent

Step 1 - the primer - was empty. I couldn't figure out what was supposed to happen until I saw an online review and it showed a white primer that you could actually see on your lashes. The quality control needs to be stepped up!

I couldn't find my usual mascara L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Washable Mascara, Blackest Black, so I thought I'd try this L'Oreal product (it looked similar) What a mistake! It is a nightmare to remove. No matter what method I try to use to remove it I would have a black residue on my face. Never again!

The Holy Grail of Mascaras; But Please Add Brown

Cons:
1 ) The Step 1 - Nourish & Protect is white: I think the way to improve upon this would be for L’Oreal to make the color just a few shades lighter than the intended result.
2 ) Stains: If it weren’t for the fact that this mascara has SO MANY other INCREDIBLE qualities, I would remove a star for this. If it happens to come off, which should be nearly non-existent, it will stain. I am yet to find anything that will remove it from fabric.
3) Only comes in two shades of black. Where is the variety?
Pros:
1) Volume: This mascara is serious about providing thickness and length.
2 ) Tears-proof: Yes, within the past 2+ years I have cried in this mascara plenty and it hasn’t budged.
3 ) Oil-proof: I have oily skin, brows, and eyelids. All previous “waterproof” non-tubing mascaras will melt or flake below my lower lid by the end of the day. This one looks as good at the end of the day as it did at the beginning.
4 ) Blizzard-proof: This mascara has been tested multiple times in snowy, blizzard-like conditions and doesn’t budge one bit.
5 ) Sweat-proof: I’ve worked out and even had sweat stinging my eyes, more times than I can count, but this mascara will not run or smudge or flake. It remains flawless.
6 ) Humidity-proof: I have traveled to humid areas of the U.S. multiple times since having this mascara and it absolutely stayed put.
7 ) Waterproof: Mostly yes, but also no. I have been in pools, hot tubs, in the ocean, and of course my shower, and wash my face in the sink. I have been splashed in the eyes in all these places. Just getting the mascara wet, even with hot tub water, will not make it come off. It takes persistent wetness combined with rubbing to make it really come off.
8 ) Sleep-proof: Mostly. Firstly, I am not condoning sleeping in any mascara. You make that choice at your own risk. The results are likely to be a crapshoot unless you sleep with a giant dome-eyed face mask on. You may wake up with flawless lashes or your eyelashes may become clumped together or flake a little in your sleep.
9 ) Lasts for a long time: Yes, you already know from various things I’ve said that this mascara is figuratively bullet-proof. But one tube of it also seems to last a lot longer than I expected it to.
L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara may have a name that’s excessively long (just like this review), and it may not sound very cool or sexy, but it will be the mascara you pray will never be discontinued and the mascara you’ve waited for your entire life. Now make it in Brown, L’Oreal!

One of the worst mascara I have ever tried. I can’t believe I spent my money on this. It’s like black water on my eyes does not even stay. Doesn’t even look like I have a mascara on made me look like I barely have hair on my eyes. The opposite of what is meant to do. I dig through my trash just to get my old mascara because of how bad this mascara made me look

Best Tubing Mascara On The Planet

I have tried dozens and dozens of mascaras and I keep coming back to this one. Tubing mascaras are amazing, but typically are not water/sweat proof. I don’t know if it’s the base coat (thank you for fixing the gumminess L’Oréal!) but this mascara has lasted through golf tournaments in 90+ degree weather! It is by far one of the best for length and volume and is superior in its water resistance. On my wish list would be a nice warm brown shade, but I’m thrilled with this mascara and it will always be my #1

Best mascara I’ve ever used!!! I try others and always end up back with this one. I love how it doesn’t flake out smudge which I have such a problem with. Then to take it off just some warm water and the tubes come right off. No mess around my eyes. It’s just the best!!!

Pour moi c'est de loin le pire mascara que j'ai acheté. Aucun volume, il me fait des traces au-dessus des paupières et le soir ça me prend 30 minutes devant la télé pour reussir a l'enlever avec mes doigts même après avoir mis de l'eau. Très déçue pour le prix en plus.

This is the absolute best mascara I have ever used. It really enhances the lashes (looks longer and fuller) and the very best part is the removal of this mascara with only water, it super fast and easy.
I have given this mascara as gifts to several friends and family members and they now use it too.

I purchased this yesterday and when I went to use it it was completely dried out. The store where I bought it from refused to exchange or refund because I had taken it out of the package. If you look at the photo the brush isn’t even completely covered

I have used this mascara for quite some time. My eyes tend to water from allergies; this mascara is a life saver there are no under eye black smears. Once the mascara sets it stays put and removes with simple warm water very little rubbing. It is the next best thing to waterproof mascara.. I hope it never gets discontinued

So far I am very impressed with this mascara. Why didn't I know about tubing mascara years ago?! I prefer to only use the black mascara end as the white pre-conditioning left my lashes a bit too clumpy and takes more time to apply and then separate. What I love is that there is no flaking AND my lashes once curled STAY CURLED ALL DAY. Only waterproof mascara has ever done this. I also love how easy it is to remove with warm water. Please don't discontinue this product and may add a version with only the black color!
