In Her Own Words
“L’Oréal Paris and I share a long history of respect and love. It’s a brand that’s like me in many ways. Being beautiful at 20 is normal. At 40, beauty comes from being mature, radiating inner strength from your eyes, your attitude, and your way of being. I’ve walked only half of my life, but the other half does not scare me. I have fully lived as an actress, as a woman, and as a mother. I know that beauty is not only what you look like, but it’s also your inner self, a glow that is inside you and that you want to share with others….That’s what living a successful life means, too.”
Beautiful and charming Andie MacDowell is a devoted mother to her three children and an inspiring leader in her North Carolina community. The arts, animal rights, and children’s issues are all causes very dear to her. In 2001, Andie received an honorary doctor of letters degree from Lander University in Greenwood, S.C., for her dedication to the Graham Children’s Health Center.
Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF)
Andie MacDowell has supported the OCRF for years and starred in L’Oréal’s public-service announcements.
In addition to her work with ovarian cancer research through L’Oréal Paris, Andie is involved with her local chapter of the United Way, the Asheville (North Carolina) Humane Society, and theater and the arts throughout the Carolinas.
